Plant: Ploidy: 2n=10
Growth Type: herbaceous / perennial
Height: 25-59cm (rarely up to 70cm)
Roots: tap roots up to 60cm long, thickened, carrot-shaped, attenuate downwards, up to 2cm in diameter, lateral roots if present, also carrot-shaped, neither tuberous, nor fusiform
others: stems single or 2-3-cespitose, simple
Leaves: # segmentation: 9 leaflets and 70-100 segments
others: lower leaves biternate, with leaflets 9 and segments 70-100 in number;
leaflets often decurrent, finaly segmented;
segments 1.5-10cm long, 0.3-2cm wide, with bristles along veins above, glabrous beneath
Flowers: Season: late April to early June
# flowers/stem: 2-4 (less seldom solitary with 1-2 undeveloped flower buds)
Bracts: involucrate bracts 1-3, leaf-like
Sepals: 3-5 in number, mostly caudate at apex, rarely one or occasionally two non-caudate, glabrous, very rarely hispidulous on abaxial surface
Petals: 6-9 in number, obovate, entire or incised at apex, 4-5cm long, 3-4cm wide
Flower Colour: rose, pale red, less frequently white
